Covid-19: MAFAC demonstrates efficient customer service

In the middle of the corona crisis, MAFAC has managed to ensure consistent service quality and to commission two new MAFAC ELBA type machines at an automotive supplier in Mexico.
For the urgent job, service technician Sebastian Petzold travelled to the state of Guanajuato in Mexico, where he spent ten days taking care of commissioning the machines, test cleaning and staff training in compliance with strict hygiene regulations. “We had to act fast as our US American partner was unable to complete this job itself due to the travel ban”, he explains.
Even if the efficiency of the customer service is to be maintained in these times of utmost uncertainty, the safety of the employees is the top priority at MAFAC. To ensure it, the risks of the trip were carefully examined in advance and appropriate protective measures were defined. On site, Sebastian Petzold commissioned the two spray-cleaning machines in compliance with strict hygiene guidelines. They are now part of a new production line and are used for the intermediate cleaning of high-precision automotive parts. The cleaned parts with the required surface quality then move on to the next processing step.
The fact that the machines could be commissioned on time thanks to these extraordinary efforts saved the company high costs for delays. This has led MAFAC to adapt the entire service process to the changing requirements: "We want to continue to strengthen our customer support during the crisis, which is why we will create appropriate infrastructures and reorganise priorities," says Thomas Gutman, Head of Customer Support.
Sebastian Petzold has now returned from his trip and the subsequent quarantine period has been completed. Since then, he has resumed his work in MAFAC's new Service Center and is benefiting from the loosening of the restrictions that has gradually been taking place since the lockdown.
