Tailwinds carry the company forward into the new year

MAFAC started the new year with a positive balance and attuned the entire workforce to 2019 during the traditional company party. In the course of this event, 16 employees celebrating an anniversary were honoured for their many years of loyalty.

The year 2018 was special for MAFAC in many respects. For instance, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary and launched a new sales model with the introduction of the compact "to go" machine MAFAC PURA. The innovative "vector kinematics" cleaning process represents another milestone that will open up new avenues and applications in aqueous parts cleaning.

We-feeling and a sense of solidarity as the driving force behind the company
"We owe the success of our activities solely to the daily diligence and dedication of our employees," stressed Managing Director Rainer Schwarz in his speech during the company party in the Braukeller in Alpirsbach. In this context, he sees the company MAFAC in the fortunate position that the colleagues are not only valued employees, but also committed and competent "co-operators" who "always work in concert and advance our goals". He thanked all employees celebrating an anniversary for their energetic support and loyalty and wished them continuing joy in working for the company.

The following employees were honoured: Bernd Merz (35 years), Christoph Duffner, Alexander Fahnenstil, Wilfried Stein, (20 years), Klaus Bergmann, Frank Strauch, Viktoria Vejs (15 years), Wulf Frey, Klaus-Dieter Jahnke, Manfred Lilla, Stefan Schaal, Martin Schlaich, Matthias Wischhoff (10 years), Bettina Kern, Manuel Oehl, Alexander Ruppel (5 years).

The fact that events such as the employee breakfast at the beginning of the year and the works meeting are well and gladly attended speaks for a good working atmosphere and a pronounced we-feeling at MAFAC. This year, employees made their own contributions to the programme. An employee sketch about the processing of customer orders, followed by the insights of charwoman "Martha Schwämmle", created a humorous atmosphere. In addition, the workforce gave a touching farewell to Joachim Schwarz from his position as technical managing director. His withdrawal from operational management marks the end of an era. However, Joachim Schwarz will remain with the company in his previous position as partner and will use his newly gained time to intensively expand the areas of Advanced Engineering and Environment within the company.

This year, both kick-off events took place on a larger scale, since the number of employees increased to 110 last year. "This corresponds to an increase of some 20 people and is a considerable number for a company of our size", said Rainer Schwarz. At the same time, he was pleased that "MAFAC is perceived as an attractive employer". Against the background of the increasingly noticeable shortage of skilled workers, he undertook to continue to support the people at MAFAC and to create an attractive working environment for them. The fact that this investment is well worth the effort was also demonstrated by the results of an employee survey on the subject of "Risk assessments of psychological stress", which were presented at the company party. The assessment here was very positive, with the company's social backing in particular achieving very good values.

Certification and positive annual financial statement
As the annual review of the two managing directors showed, the company recorded a total turnover of EUR 19.5 million in 2018. This corresponds to a growth rate of more than 10 percent compared to the previous year. Growth in domestic machinery sales was particularly strong, resulting in a weaker export share than in previous years. In addition, MAFAC yet again received the CrefoZert seal of creditworthiness from the Creditreform commercial credit reporting agency, once again confirming the solidity of the company for future business transactions.

Optimistic outlook for 2019
For 2019, corporate management anticipates a similarly positive business development as in the previous year. To this end, appearances at trade fairs such as the Intec in Leipzig, the Turning Days in Friedrichshafen or the Dreh- und Spantage Südwest in Villingen-Schwenningen or the Fachtagung für industrielle Bauteilreinigung in Ulm of the Fachverband industrielle Teilereinigung (FiT) e.V. (Industrial Parts Cleaning Association) are to contribute to the further market penetration of products.
