Kinematics meet ultrasonic – New patent for MAFAC

The long wait is finally over: MAFAC now officially received the patent certificate for its new ultrasonic cleaning technology, setting a new milestone in aqueous parts cleaning by means of relative movement. For the first time, the new ultrasonic technology combined sonic-based cleaning with the targeted generation of turbulences enhancing the cleaning results. To this end, the system can be rotated and positioned in dependence on the sensitivity of the components and the type of contamination.

"With the rotation of the ultrasonic oscillators around the basket receptacle system, we achieve an even better distribution of the sonic waves within the chamber. The ultrasound hits the parts from all sides, significantly reducing the shadow zones. Targeted ultrasound positioning furthermore allows for intensive sonication of hard-to-reach component surfaces," says Joachim Schwarz, MAFAC Managing Director and responsible for Advanced Engineering and Production. "For this reason, the new ultrasonic technology will be primarily used in cleaning sensitive components of very small size and highly complex geometries.
