Journalists’ visit to MAFAC

The new MAFAC Customer Center (MCC) is receiving increasing attention. After the doors could only be opened very cautiously due to the corona pandemic, the first trade journalists have now come for a visit. On 12 August, the two editors Jochen Knecht and Holger Seybold of "JOT - Journal für Oberflächentechnik” (Journal for Surface Technology) found out more about the new building at the Alpirsbach site. They were given a tour by shareholder Joachim Schwarz, who introduced them to the energy efficiency concept of the MCC. Particular attention was paid to the new Technical Centre, which was designed as a learning and model factory. In the future, MAFAC wants to use it to show in a live process what CO2-reduced industrial component cleaning can look like.

"Tomorrow's customers will increasingly take into account the carbon footprint of our products in their purchasing decisions, in addition to cleaning quality and acquisition costs. We want to be one step ahead of these market requirements, which is why we have created an environment in our Technical Centre by means of an extensive network of buildings and machines, in which we can test and further develop the effectiveness of our technology modules to support greater energy efficiency and environmentally compatible behaviour. In doing so, we want to provide our customers with building blocks for the future alongside machine development, which in turn will give them a competitive advantage for themselves,” says Joachim Schwarz. Both journalists were visibly impressed by this visionary approach at MAFAC, which has always been firmly anchored in its corporate values: "MAFAC’s forward thinking and its constant search for even better solutions has always been very inspiring to me," said Jochen Knecht.

The visit of the two journalists also marked the end of an era of a long trusting cooperation with Jochen Knecht . He is taking his well-deserved retirement as editor-in-chief and will be followed by experienced trade journalist Holger Seybold from 1 September. We appreciate the opportunity to get to know him in a first meeting!
