Generational shift at MAFAC – Transition with a three-person board at the management level



MAFAC proceeds in the generational shift and welcomes a new managing director. On 1 March 2021, Armand Oostendorp will take over as Head of Marketing, Sales, Customer Support and Product Management.

In this position, the 48-year-old degreed engineer will work as an equal managing director together with Rainer Schwarz and Stefan Schaal and together they will set up the company with 100 employees for the future. “I am very pleased that we were able to inspire Armand Oostendorp and that we can count on his experience and support,” says Rainer Schwarz, son of the company founder Ernst Schwarz.

Armand Oostendorps’s career stages have led him, after he had finished his engineering studies and the studies in business administration with technical orientation, towards the south of Germany, where he began to work as a project manager in the Engineering Department of MAFAC in 2001. Thereafter, he’s been Head of the Department for Project Work/Commissioned Design and the Technical Sales Department. Armand Oostendorp has been a member of the second management level since 2017 and is responsible for the Product Management business unit. Thanks to his long career at MAFAC, he got to know the company and its products from the ground up and, as a result of his activities, has fundamental market and industry knowledge in aqueous parts cleaning.

By doing so, we would like to secure our position as a leader in technology and on the market,” Armand Oostendorp explains.

After 30 years of being Head of the Sales Department, Rainer Schwarz gives him the departments Marketing, Sales and Customer Support, the departments regarding business administration such as Human Resources and Finances remain in his sphere. Stefan Schaal continues to be responsible for the technical management, which he took over in 2019. Both are convinced that especially in this time of structural change and the current pandemic, support through a third managing director, will properly prepare the generational shift and set the course for a successful continuation of the company’s business. “With Armand Oostendorp, we have an experienced market expert in whose experience we trust and from whose insights we will benefit. I am looking forward to our cooperation. Together we will take advantage of the chances and challenges of the future and open up new markets and service offers and we will also advance anything concerning digitalization,” Stefan Schaal explains.
